Mark Seton

Mark is a performer, writer, and lecturer in the performing arts and screen studies. He has also worked as a writer, director, video and sound editor in corporate and educational video production. He currently works as an independent Higher Education Creative, Media and Performing Arts Educator and Consultant to provide passionate, playful, ethical, thought-provoking, body-shifting, culture-changing services in research, education, consultancy and production for the relational support and resilient nurture of educators and practitioners in the arts, humanities, social and health sciences. By nurturing relational and resilient vulnerability in these practitioners, his business promotes the value of relational and resilient vulnerability in society. His special interests are creating performing arts training practices that are both ethical and sustainable, and, facilitating conversations in organisations that can nurture creativity and innovation. As a 2009 Churchill Fellowship recipient, he has returned from a study tour of performance training in the UK and is working to promote psychological and emotional well-being of actors both in training and in the workplace in Australia. He has a BA (Majors in Theatre and Philosophy), Grad. Dip. in Arts by Research (Theatre) and a PhD in Performance Studies.
